Privacy Policy
This policy explains what SkyCrest Advisors, LLC collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
This website is operated by SkyCrest Advisors, LLC ("SkyCrest", "we", "us"), which provides exit planning and mergers and acquisitions advisory services to managed service providers. SkyCrest is the controller of the information described in this policy. For any question about this policy or about your information, contact us at mahen@skycrest.group or (484) 354-4274. We do not publish a postal address; email is the fastest way to reach us and to make any request under this policy.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, company name, business email address, phone number (optional) and preferred contact method, when you finish the assessment or submit the contact form.
- Business information — the figures and answers you enter into the MSP Value & Exit Assessment. This includes annual revenue, adjusted EBITDA or a profit range, recurring revenue share, client concentration, client retention, contract terms, staffing, owner involvement, operational and security practices, your use of AI, how your financials are prepared, and your exit timeline.
- Readiness Check — your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it, when you ask for your results. We keep your score for each of the three parts (you, your finances, your business), shown as a number out of 4. We do not receive or keep the individual answers you gave. We use this to send your results and may write to you by email about them.
- Booking details — the name and email address (and, if you add them, company and phone number) you type into the booking pop-up before the calendar appears.
- Anything else you choose to send us — for example the free-text message on the contact form, or the contents of an email you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Standard web server records, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested and the time of the request.
- Anonymous event counts, such as how many people opened the assessment or reached the booking calendar. Each count is added to a daily total together with a broad source (for example search or LinkedIn). The count holds no name, IP address or device identifier, and we set no cookies for it. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count you at all.
- Abuse limiting and your saved record. To stop the forms and the calculator being flooded, our server keeps a salted one-way hash of your IP address (and, when you submit a form, a salted one-way hash of your email address) for about two days. A hash cannot be reversed to recover the address. When you submit the assessment, the Readiness Check or a contact or booking form, the record we save also holds the hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string (the text your browser sends to describe itself, such as its name and version). We use these only to spot abuse and duplicate submissions.
- Booking calendar. The scheduler in the booking pop-up is provided by Calendly. It loads when you reach the calendar step of the pop-up, not before, and from that moment Calendly receives your IP address and browser details and handles your booking under its own privacy policy. The name and email you typed in the first step of the pop-up are passed to Calendly in the address of the calendar, so that it can pre-fill its form. When you press "Choose a time", we also save the details you entered as a record in our system and send an internal notification email to SkyCrest, so that we can follow up; this happens before you pick a time, even if you then close the pop-up without booking. When a booking is made through the pop-up, we record that it came from our website and, where we can match it, link it to your assessment record so that we follow up properly. If Calendly's optional notification to our server is switched on, Calendly also tells us about each booking and cancellation (your name, email address, the time and the source of the link).
- Videos. The SkyCrest overview video is served from this website and loads only when you press play. The podcast episode is a YouTube video shown with YouTube's privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click to play it. When you do, Google, which runs YouTube, receives your IP address and browser details and may store or read identifiers on your device, under its own privacy policy. A plain "Watch on YouTube" link opens YouTube in a new tab.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How the assessment handles your figures
While you work through the questions, your answers stay in your browser. When you finish the last question, they are sent over an encrypted connection to the SkyCrest server so it can work out your figures. That calculation does not save them, add them to any list or link them to you.
Your results are then ready, and the next screen asks for your name, company, email, phone number (optional) and preferred contact method. SkyCrest saves your answers only when you complete that screen and press "See my results", and only together with the details you enter there, so that Mahen can review them and contact you. If you close the window before that, nothing is kept. The record also holds a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, as described above. When you complete that screen, the server works out your figures again from the saved answers and emails a copy of your results to the address you give (at most one such email a day to an address).
Why we use it
- To work out and show you your valuation results, and to go through them with you.
- To email you a copy of your results, and to contact you about them and about your MSP's value, using the method you chose.
- To respond to enquiries you send us.
- To improve the assessment and this website.
- To meet our legal, tax and professional obligations, and to protect our rights and the security of the site.
Where the law requires a lawful basis, we rely on your consent (which you give by ticking the box before you submit) and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries addressed to us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with:
- Service providers who run this website and our systems on our behalf — our web host, email provider and scheduling tool. They may process your information only on our instructions.
- Sales contractors who make the first contact — SkyCrest uses independent contractors to follow up new enquiries. They receive the lead details so that they can contact you and arrange a call with Mahen: your contact details, the answers you entered and the results shown to you.
- Professional advisors — our own lawyers and accountants, where necessary.
- Anyone we are legally required to share it with — a court, regulator or law enforcement body acting under proper authority.
Calendly and Google (YouTube) receive information directly from your browser when you use the booking calendar or play the podcast video, as described above. That is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
If you later engage SkyCrest on a transaction, any sharing of your information with potential buyers is governed by that engagement and by a separate confidentiality agreement. Nothing you submit through this website is shared with a buyer.
How long we keep it
We keep a lead record (an assessment, a Readiness Check, a contact enquiry or a booking) for 24 months after our last contact with you, and then it is deleted automatically by a scheduled job on our server. "Last contact" means the latest of: the day you submitted, the day the record was last updated in our inbox (for example when we note that we spoke), and the day a booking was made. A record that we mark as an engagement in progress is not deleted by that job: we keep it while the engagement lasts and for as long as our legal and professional obligations require. You can ask us to delete your records sooner at any time (see below).
Some things are kept differently. The salted hashes used for abuse limiting are removed after about two days. If you asked us to stop writing to you or to delete your information, your email address stays on a do-not-contact list so that the request keeps being honoured. The notification emails we received when you submitted are in our mailboxes and are not removed by the scheduled job; ask us and we will delete them as well. Backup copies of our database that already exist are not changed by a deletion.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Submissions are stored on access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you send us.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop contacting you, at any time.
Stop emails or delete your information, in one step
Every email we send to you contains a link to a page where you can press one of two buttons. Stop writing to me ends all follow-up: your records are marked archived and do-not-contact, and our reminders and follow-ups skip you. We keep what you sent, but we will not contact you. Delete my information and stop writing to me deletes the assessment, Readiness Check, contact and booking records we hold under your email address. The mail "unsubscribe" button in apps such as Gmail does the same as "stop". Either way, SkyCrest is told that you made the request, and your email address stays on a short do-not-contact list so the request keeps being honoured. You can also reply "stop" to any email, or write to mahen@skycrest.group, and we will do it by hand.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights — for example to object to or restrict our use of your information, to receive a copy in a portable format, or to complain to your data protection authority. Residents of California and certain other US states have rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in those laws.
To exercise any of these, use the link in our emails, or email mahen@skycrest.group from the address you gave us. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act, so that your information is not disclosed or deleted by someone else. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows. You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
International transfers
SkyCrest Advisors, LLC operates from the United States and our service providers may process information there. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law where you live.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date below. Material changes affecting how we use information you have already given us will be notified to you directly where we can. Your continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies from its effective date.
